love at first sight: the Jason Wu pop-up store
In February, Canadians showed up for a taste of Target® at the Jason Wu for Target pop-up store on Toronto’s King Street.
Designer Jason Wu, celeb stylist Brad Goreski and more than 1,500 guests came out to celebrate one day of Wu. Guests began to arrive at 8 a.m. and a line formed soon after, circling around the store and around the block before the noon opening.
The atmosphere in and outside the store was energetic. Guests in line enjoyed free Starbucks hot chocolate while Bullseye, the beloved Target mascot, mingled with the excited crowd.
Before doors officially opened, Jason escorted the first guest inside the chic black-and-white shop. Inside, everyone was yammering for a bit of Wu amid the colorful rooms full of fabulous frocks.
The undisputable store standouts were the crisp, navy poplin dress with pink and red stripes at the bottom and the ultra-luxe scarf printed with a black cat, the mischievous Milu. The limited-edition collection sold out in less than five hours.
The best part? All of the Canadian fans eager to get their hands on the Jason Wu for Target collection helped raise nearly $60,000 for United Way Toronto
.
For many, this was their first experience with Target in Canada. Not a bad introduction, if you ask us. As the billboard that hung over the pop-up store expressed, Target loves Canada… and can’t wait for stores to open next year.
